Robert 'Yogi' Oliver

Robert Andrew "Yogi" Oliver, 70, of Rogers passed away Sept. 23, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born July 9, 1943, in Bentonville, the son of Sidney Andrew and Ruby Arvilla Smith Oliver. He formerly worked at Emerson Electric, Franklin Roofing and Marshalltown Tools. Robert joined the United States Marine Corps in 1964, and also served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968. He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Andrew Oliver. Survived by his mother, Ruby Arvilla Smith Oliver of Garfield; sisters, Deloris Bailey and husband, James, of Rogers, and Mary DeShields and husband, Donnie, of Garfield; brother, Charles Oliver and wife, Anna, of Rogers; 11 nieces and nephews; and his cat, Scruff. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Eastside Assembly of God Church in Bentonville, with Pastor Robert Ward officiating.
