Mary Nell (McKay) Thompson

Mary Nell (McKay) Thompson, 83, of Sherwood, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Sherwood Nursing Center. She was born March 19, 1930, in Faulkner County, Ark., a daughter of Walter L. and Molly (Russell) McKay. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Joe L. Thompson, who died Aug. 4, 2010. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Church of Christ in Levy and was a retired secretary in the guidance office of North Little Rock Schools. She is survived by a brother, Russell McKay of Des Arc; sisters, Betty Dockins of Conway and Hope Rice of Enfield, Conn.; her sons, Gregg Thompson of North Little Rock, Ark., and Doug Thompson and wife, Lisa, of Fayetteville, Ark.; and five grandchildren, Megan Olshavsky, Tyler Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Grace Thompson and Samuel Thompson. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Conway; burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Conway.
