James Walter Bishop Jr.

James Walter Bishop Jr., age 76, a resident of Prescott, Ark., passed away March 21, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in York County, Va., the son of James Walter and Mary Cook Bishop. Walt served in the United States Army during the Occupation of Germany. He was a life member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Leo Mann Post 8671 in Prescott, Ark., and a member of Prescott #80 Free and Accepted Masons. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Bishop and Jerry Bishop. Survivors include one son, Jeff Bishop and wife, Karla, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters, Dawna Bishop Stevens and husband, Wylie, of Galveston, Texas, and Whitney Bishop of Springhill, La.; one brother, Bernard Bishop of Williamsburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Halee Anthony, Ember Dennison, Jordan Callaway, Kelsey Bishop and Garret Bishop; and two great-grandchildren, Brinley Anthony and Dax Anthony. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 25, 2013, 1 p.m. at the National Cemetery Pavilion in Fayetteville, Ark. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorials be made to Operation Reboot, 711 W.
