Sheila Simonson

Sheila Simonson, 69, of Rogers, Ark., passed away at her home on June 27, 2013. She was born Dec. 12, 1943, to Clyde and Margaret Reagan at Mitchell Field in New York and was the oldest of five children. Sheila graduated from Salinas High School in California and attended Hartnell College for two semesters before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force where she served as medic. While stationed at Offutt AFB in Nebraska, she met her husband, Michael, and they were wed on Aug. 1, 1964. Shortly thereafter, she left the Air Force and gave birth to her only child, Susan. Sheila went to the Baptist School of Nursing in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she earned her LVN/LPN in 1971. Upon moving to Arkansas from Texas in 1983, Sheila went to work first at Springdale Hospital, then Rogers Nursing Center and eventually St. Mary's Mercy Hospital where she retired as the ostomy/wound care nurse in 2002 due to early-onset Alzheimer's. Her parents predeceased her, but in addition to her husband and daughter, Sheila also leaves behind, Patty Frank and family in Atoka, Okla., Michael Reagan and family in Soledad, Calif., Mark Reagan of Rogers, Ark., and Jane Reagan of Bentonville, Ark. No public services are planned. In lieu of gifts of sympathy for the family, donations to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) can be made in her name.
