Roger Leon Moser, 72, of Springdale, Ark., died June 10, 2013, in Springdale. He was born on Sept. 12, 1940, in Berne, Ind., to Harry "Short" and Dorcas Clendenen Moser. He graduated from Hartford Center High School in 1958, where he was a star basketball player and a member of the 1957 Hartford Township Gorillas sectional championship basketball team. Roger married the love of his life, his longtime friend and partner, Veda Viney, on Nov. 27, 1992, in Rogers, Ark. Known as "Mo" by many family and friends, Roger was a longtime resident of Arkansas on Beaver Lake; he loved to fish, watch basketball and be outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking and billiards, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephew. His quiet, calm and friendly personality won over everyone who met him and made him a valued friend and mentor to many. He is survived by his wife, Veda Moser of the home; two sons, Randy Moser and wife, Mindy, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Carey Moser and wife, Rhonda, of Berne, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Michelle Viney and husband, Lee Chalmers, of Fayetteville, Miranda Viney of Farmington; three brothers, Ted Moser of Dayton, Ohio, Jim Moser of Fort Wayne, Ind., Tom Moser of Bluffton, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Ryan Moser, Nicholas Moser, Jeremy Moser and Callie Chalmers. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Online guest book at heritageofnwa.com.
