Garnett Schroeder Howery Graf, age 88, died on July 12, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, Ark. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in the town of Wellington, Wis., to Otto Frederick Schroeder and Ila Roloff Schroeder. Garnett Schroeder graduated from Kendall High School and went to Madison, Wis., to attend the Groves-Barnhart School for secretaries. Upon graduation, she was employed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for seven years. From age 4, she sang in various groups, church choirs, the Madison Civic Chorus, Madison Philharmonic Chorus and ensembles. In 1949, Garnett married Victor I. Howery in Bethel Lutheran Church, Madison. They were the proud parents of two daughters, Carla Beth and Marcia. Garnett enjoyed entertaining, reading, traveling and all her friends. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, Wis., she and her husband moved back to Madison where she worked in the Midvale School library. In 1978, Victor passed away; and in 2008 Marcia died; and in 2009 Carla was deceased. Garnett married Edwin Graf in 1989 in Bella Vista, Ark., where they spent many happy years. She is survived by Edwin Graf; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; step-children; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
