James Charles Cannady Jr.

James Charles Cannady Jr. 60, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Jan. 24, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Woburn, Mass., the son of James Charles Cannady Sr. and Jean Marie Hattzburger Cannady. He was a retired antique car mechanic, a United States Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 0100 in Rogers, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Paulette Coger Cannady of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Ann Cannady of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his mother, Jean Marie Cannady of Harrison, Ark.; one granddaughter, Ericka Cannady of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Vicky Cannady of Harrison, Ark., and Tom and Laura Cannady of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Randy Crow of Bergman, Ark.; his mother-in-law, Liz Coger of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Butch Coger and Barbara Goodman of Fayetteville, Ark.; close friends, Starla Aycock and family of Fayetteville, Ark. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Hindsville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, 1640 South Armstrong, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO-HOO what a ride."
