Leroy Rhodes

Leroy Rhodes, age 55, of Rogers passed away Dec. 6, 2013, in Bentonville. Leroy was born June 4, 1958, in Fort Carson, Colo., to parents Melvin Rhodes and Rita Furrer. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Diane Orr on Aug. 29, 1980, and they enjoyed over 30 years of marriage. Leroy worked for 22 years as a buyer for Wal-Mart. More recently Leroy was the district sales manager for the "Arkansas Democrat-Gazette." He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, playing poker, landscaping, and was an avid Arkansas Razorback and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Leroy would go out of his way to help others and loved to spend time with his family. Leroy is survived by his wife, Cindy of the home; parents, Melvin and Rita of Rogers; sons, Joshua Hicks and wife, Eva, of Centerton, and Matthew Rhodes and wife, Kortney, of Pea Ridge; daughter, Christy Hicks of Rogers; brothers, Jeff Rhodes of Gravette and Dusty Rhodes of Rogers; sisters, Terry Von Tersch of Pea Ridge, Shirley Taylor of Powell, Mo., and Tammy Knox of Centerton; grandchildren, Valeria Aguirre, Andrea Aguirre, Gabriela Hicks and Madison Rhodes; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W Walnut, Rogers. The family has asked that, in memory of Leroy, donations be made to the Circle of Life Hospice.
