David A. Brown of Bella Vista, Ark., left this world Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his home at the age of 69. He was born Oct. 31, 1944, to Ethel and Cecil Brown in Carthage, Mo. He graduated from Carthage in 1962. He then joined the Navy in 1963. David was a part of the Photographic Squadron during the Vietnam War. He then attended Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo., where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in History Education. He retired after 36 years as an insurance adjuster. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Brown of the home; brother, Tom Brown and wife, Jane, of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Susie Kollmeyer, of Carthage, Mo.; two sons, Nick Brown, of Fayetteville and Andrew Brown (Elizabeth), of Rogers; three stepchildren, Andrea Bruce (Shane) of Cushing, Okla., Tim Smith-Ream (Jeff) of Tulsa, and Stephen Smith, of Springdale; two nieces, Becky Brandt (Hunter) and Audrey Hill (Kyle); two nephews, Caleb Peterson (Sarah) and Jeff Brown; eight grandchildren, Beau, Jacob and Will Bruce, Sydne Fairchild, Rylee Smith, Gabe, Katie, and Sadie Brown and many, many friends. A celebration of David's life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers. Burial will be at 12 Noon at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville with full military honors provided. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services.
