James Ellis Sugg, 70, of Springdale, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Nov. 24, 1942, in West Point, Miss., to Harry C and Mary Riley Sugg.
James was a retired Food Inspector for the U.S.D.A. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and Shriner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He enjoyed woodworking, mission work and beekeeping.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Sugg, of the home; one son, James Ellis Sugg Jr. and wife, Julie, of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Melissa Bradley and husband, Jon, of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Harry Sugg of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Joan Cash of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, Riley Sugg and T.J. Bradley.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 15, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville at the corner of Dickson Street and College Avenue. Dr. Douglas Faulkner will officiate. A visitation will precede the funeral from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Graveside services will be at the New Hope Cemetery near Amory, Miss., on Wednesday, April 17, at 10 a.m. under the direction of E.E. Pickle Funeral Home.
