Thomas David Bryant

Thomas David Bryant, age 63, a resident of Athens, Georgia, passed away October 3, 2012 at his home. Tom was born in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Roosevelt High School. He briefly attended Mercer University before joining the Marines and serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. He moved to Fayetteville, Ark. soon after returning from Vietnam and stayed for 30 years before retiring from the United States Postal Service and returning to Georgia. Tom loved playing golf, watching the Razorbacks, researching on his computer, and discussing politics. He loved God, his family, and the Marines. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Bryant. Survivors include his mother, Joy Ann Bryant of Buckhead, Ga.; daughter, Mandy Bryant of Springdale, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Joann Bryant; sister, Connie Gulley, all of Buckhead, Ga.; two nieces and a nephew, Jennifer Doran and her husband Scott, Buckhead, Ga.; Kim Jones and her husband Jon, Monroe, Ga.; and C.J. Gulley, Buckhead, Ga.; great-nephew, Colton Jones, Monroe, Ga. Per his request, Tom had a graveside funeral with immediate family in Buckhead, Ga. Mickey Oliver of the New Testament Baptist Church officiated the ceremony.
