William Herman Weathers, 100, of Huntsville, Ark., died Oct. 22, 2012, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born June 9, 1912, at Kingston, Ark., the son of William Thomas and Julia Ann Patterson Weathers. He served as a forest ranger for 25 years and was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jessie M. McBroom Weathers, whom he married on July 2, 1933, and who preceded him in death on March 18, 2002. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Burl Weathers, Vergil Weathers and Glenn Weathers; and six sisters, Maudie Armes Little, Lillie Phillips, Flossie Ema Ramsey, Edna Combs, Estie McFerrin and Jessie Bolinger Radach Hensley. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William H. "Bill" and Roberta Weathers of Huntsville, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jeanette and J.D. Hawthorn of Huntsville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Jerry Weathers, Randy Hawthorn and Brenda Grigg, all of Huntsville, Ark.; and five great-grandchildren, Bethany Hawthorn, Tanner Hawthorn, Dalton Grigg, Rusty Burnett and Shana Burnett, all of Huntsville, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Reverends Jim Spurlock and David Watson officiating. Interment will be in the McBroom Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville, Ark., www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
