Lena M. McDonald

Following a brief illness our family lost our Matriarch, Ms. Lena "Marie" Howell McDonald. She passed peacefully Oct. 15, 2012, at Jamestown Nursing and Rehab, and was met by her Lord and Savior. Ms. McDonald was born Oct. 8, 1914, in McNab, Ark., to William Thomas and Nannie Effie Lee Howell. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loma Lee Howell Buster; three brothers, Walter Wallace Howell, William Shelley Howell and Henry Louis Howell; her husband of 61 years, Quentin F. McDonald; and their beloved dog, "Ginger." Marie is survived by her niece, Jean Marie Chappell; her nephew, Larry K. Buster and wife, Lynda. Marie is also survived by four generations of nieces and nephews, and many friends in this area. She will be missed by all. Residing in Rogers the past 40 years, she was a longtime member of Southside Church of Christ and an avid Razorback fan. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or the Breast Cancer Society of America. Arrangements are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
