Constance Clack

Constance Clack, 88, of Fayetteville died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Lake Village, Ark., the daughter of Fred L. and Gertrude MacChesney. She was a 1943 graduate of the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Chi Omega. As a Navy wife in the mid-1940s, she held a series of civilian jobs with the U.S. Navy on both coasts. In the early 1970s, she worked for the Fayetteville Public Library and then for several years, under the name Corona Tours, arranged and led tour groups to destinations in Italy and Austria. She was for many years a member of the Modern Literature Club and was an avid cook, gardener and opera-goer. She took a special interest in the Fayetteville Public Library, the Arkansas Children's Hospital and the Heifer Project. She is survived by two sons, Alan and Lawrence; and a daughter-in-law, Connie. Plans for a memorial service will be announced later.
