M. Lorene Lackey

M. Lorene Lackey, 78, of Patrick, died Oct. 1, 2012, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Jan. 11, 1934, at Patrick, Ark., the daughter of Cash and Arta Mills Parsley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Combs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Don Parsley, Tom Parsley and Curtis Parsley; and two sisters, Emma Lou Tunstil and Coleen Stokes. Survivors include her husband, Sam Lackey of the home; one son, Jimmy Lackey of Patrick, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Don Gramling of Patrick, Ark.; an honorary daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Steve Glenn of Patrick, Ark.; four brothers and six sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Hazel Parsley of Elkins, Ark., Frank and Virginia Parsley of Farmington, Ark., Dale and Freda Parsley and Carl and Pat Parsley, all of Fayetteville, Ark., Carolyn Parsley of Springdale, Ark., and Wanda Parsley of Huntsville, Ark.; one brother-in-law, John Tunstil of Fayetteville, Ark.; a wonderful caretaker and friend, Sheila Burnett of Combs, Ark.; two step-grandsons; one honorary grandson; one honorary granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Services will be held at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the Combs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Interment will be in the Patrick Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be Tommy Tramell, Riggie Higgs, Stanley Tunstil, Steve Glenn, Norman Patrick and Lonnie Roach.
