Ferna June Locklin

Ferna June Locklin, 95, of Springdale, Ark., passed away on May 22, 2012, at the Walnut Grove Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Springdale, Ark. She was born on June 11, 1916, in Pasco, Wash., a daughter of Luther Penny and Gordy (Stephenson) Penny. Ferna worked as a seamstress at SR Wilson in Springdale. She enjoyed her flower garden and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Springdale. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Horace Locklin; four brothers, Elmer Penny, Alan Penny, Roger Penny and Lowell Penny; one sister, Donna Graham; and one daughter, Carola June Moore. Ferna is survived by her granddaughter, Melody Moore; and one sister, Paula Patton, both of Springdale, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Ark., with Pastor Fant officiating the service. Committal service will be private.
