Shirley Ann Marxen

Shirley Ann Marxen of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her home. She was born in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Mary Klaus and Phil Rudick. Shirley and her husband, Bob, were married in 1947. They were both students at Robbinsdale High School in Robbinsdale, Minn. She worked for Honeywell Corporation for 28 years before retiring and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1986. Shirley enjoyed golfing and going to the casino. Shirley was in remission for 12 years before her cancer returned. She missed golfing and her golfing friends, whom she enjoyed immensely. She was preceded in death by her parents. Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert C. Marxen, of the home; two sons, Jeffrey P. Marxen of Bella Vista and Robert A. Marxen of Makinen, Minn.; two sisters, Phyllis Gamache of Minneapolis, Minn., and Janet Rockler of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista. Mass will be at 10 a.m. followed by a reception and food.
