Martin Moses Jr., 70, of Edmond, Okla., entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was born Jan. 27, 1942, to Martin Moses Sr. and Alice Ferrel Moses in Lawton, Okla. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA. He was a self-employed CPA, operating the Martin Moses CPA firm in Norman. Martin enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles and was a great handyman. He was so very proud of his family. He was a devoted husband, father and "Papa" to his grandchildren. He was our hero. His proudest moment was when he became a Christian. Martin was a member of the Norman Community Church of the Nazarene, where he faithfully served in the church orchestra. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Norman and especially enjoyed working in the Terrific Kids program. His giving and selfless spirit touched so many lives. He is survived by, loved and will be truly missed by his wife of 49 years, Donna, of the home; two daughters, Kim Atwell and her husband, Wyman, of Rogers, Ark., Lori Schwenke and her husband, Mark, of Edmond; two sons, Paul Moses and his wife, Amy, of Norman, Steve Moses and his wife, Cathy, of Austin, Texas; his sister, Janet Dourlet and her husband, Ernie, of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Brooke Atwell, Taylor Atwell, Tasha Wolf, Brittany Mueller, Trent Schwenke, Chad Schwenke, Lauren Moses; his mother-in-law, Mae Pugh; cousins, Nancy Stankowski, Dayton Moses; a nephew, John Dourlet; and a niece, Ann Mott. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Moses; and a granddaughter, Ashley Atwell. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested contributions to the Norman Community Church of the Nazarene; 1801 N. Porter, Norman, OK 73071. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Norman Community Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Brent Hardesty and Rev. Charles Dean officiating.
