John Eric VanLaningham

John Eric VanLaningham, 64, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died March 15, 2012, at his home. Born Jan. 1, 1948, in Winfield, Kan., he was the son of John Marion VanLaningham and Jo Aleene Walker VanLaningham. He grew up in Siloam Springs, and was a 1966 graduate of Siloam Springs High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. John Eric was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include two sons, Derek VanLaningham of Sacramento, Calif., and Matt VanLaningham and wife, Lindsay, of Roseville, Calif.; five grandchildren; one brother, Scott VanLaningham and wife, Kathy, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Kay Ratzlaff and husband, Kenny, of Tampa, Fla., and Jodi Patterson of Tulsa, Okla.; two nephews; and his mother, Jo VanLaningham of Fayetteville, Ark. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
