Jerry Duane Harris

Duane was born March 18, 1950, in Fort Smith, Ark., died March 2, 2012, in Checotah, Okla., in his home; he was 61 years young. Duane was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer; his father, Ralph Harris of Rogers. Duane is survived by one daughter, Christy of Michigan; five brothers, Galen Harris (Susan) from Bella Vista, Gary Harris of Rogers, Dale Harris (Jan) of Anderson, Mo., Johnny Harris (Judy) of Carthage, Mo., Gerald Harris (Pam); one sister, Carolyn Pike (Gene) of Rogers; and his mother, Reba Harris of Rogers; Duane's companion, Remona Morgan of the home; and "yellow dog" that he enjoyed very much; six nieces; nine nephews; three step-nephews; three step-nieces. Duane was a truck driver for J & J Trucking out of Springdale for many years. Duane enjoyed being with his family, fishing and riding his tractor, playing 42. Duane leaves a vacancy in our family and he will be missed. A gathering will be held at a later date.
