Evelyn Colean Meeks

Evelyn Colean Meeks, age 73, of Bentonville, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her home after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Newton County, Ark., on May 7, 1939, to the late Freeland and Ruby (Smith) Marshall. She was employed for over 35 years at BEMCO in Centerton. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing dice games with her sisters and being outdoors. Survivors include her children, Michelle Meeks Lane and Kevin Williams, both of Bentonville; grandchildren, LaTisa Lane, Aleshia Lane, Johnathan Nguyen, all of Bentonville, Elizabeth Williams of Kansas; great grandchildren Austin Lane and Eve Williams; sisters, Jane Saxon of Rogers, Juanita Woodmancy of Noel, Missouri; brother, J.C. Marshall of Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to her. She was preceded in death by parents, three sisters and one brother. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Cremation will follow. Donations may be made to offset expenses.
