William J. Crawford

William J. Crawford, 80, of Bella Vista, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Jamestown Nursing Home in Rogers. He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, to J.L. and Grace Crawford. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Anna Ables Feb. 8, 1957. They lived in Westwood, Kan., before moving to Bella Vista in 1997, where he was an avid golfer. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Crawford; two sons, William Crawford Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Columbia, Tenn., Scott Crawford and his wife, Jodi, of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Kayte, Alli, Matt and Kylie; and four sisters-in-law, Sue Payne, Nancy Wall, Mary Wyatt and Eddie Polk. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Ken Polk officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard, American Legion Post #100. Memorials may be made in honor of William Crawford to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, P.O.
