Robert Allen Sparks Sr.

Robert Allen Sparks Sr., age 84, of Springdale, died June 14, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. He was born March 2, 1928, in West Plains, Mo., the son of Robert B. Sparks and Isabelle Collum Sparks. He was a retired drop forger and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed camping, square dancing, fishing and quail hunting. Mr. Sparks was preceded by his parents; one son, Roddy Sparks; and one daughter, Patricia Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Parker Sparks, of the home; six sons, Bob Sparks of Rockford, Ill., Charles Macy of Cameron, Okla., Mitchell Sparks of Hardy, Ark., Wylie Macy of Stratford, Okla., Frankie Macy of Springdale, and Allen B. Sparks of Fayetteville; one daughter, Roxanne of Rockford, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Judy VanHoose officiating. There will not be a visitation. Cremation was under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
