Jimmie S. Masner

Jimmie Sloan Masner was born on May 26, 1939, to Tint "T.O." and Elvie Jane Johnson-Masner. He departed this life to the Lord's Home on June 14, 2012, at the age of 73 while living at Rogers New Hope & Rehabilitation Center. Jimmy was born in Cave City, Ark., and though he had lived briefly in Tennessee and Missouri, he always came back to what he considered "home," Rogers, Ark. Jimmie was the youngest of seven boys, Junior, Glen, Charles, Neil, Tommy, William, and then Jimmy. He married Emma Carlene Milner in January of 1955. "Carlene" passed away in 1973. Prior to her death, they were blessed with three children: two sons, Jimmy Carlene, who passed away in January of 1980 and William Edward "Eddie", who resides in Hartville, Mo., and a daughter, Dianna Hall and her husband Don of Rogers, Ark. He adored his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Later in his life, Jimmie remarried to Flonnie Ellis, together they raised her four daughters, Brenda Jesse of Baltimore, Md., Cynthia Jesse-Suffka of Fort Worth, Texas, Vernabeth Jesse of Baltimore, Md., and Tammy Nix-Hahn of Rogers, Ark. Jimmie was a good husband and provider, and worked hard to give his family a good home. He did lots of different work during his lifetime. He was a long-haul truck driver for more than 20 years. When he was ready to stay closer to home, he worked for Rogers High School in the custodial and maintenance departments and well as driving a school bus, which he loved. He saw many area children grow up to have families of their own in his better than 15 years there. He was an easy going, easy to please kind of guy. He loved to travel and would be ready to go anywhere in the U.S. on a moment's notice. He loved being with his family, wherever they were, whatever they were doing. It's what he enjoyed most of all. Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather. A good brother, neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered, and truly missed by all that knew him. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
