Cecil Glenn Powell

Cecil Glen "Pete" Powell, age 89, of Springdale, died June 11, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Faulkner County, Ark., to Hough D. and Minnie I. Powell. He was born again on Feb. 10, 1974, in Springdale, and served his Lord through Caudle Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Springdale. He also served his country in World War II in central Europe as a foot soldier. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Elsie Mason, Floy Powell, Paralee Lee and Floria Fulmer. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edna Robinson Powell. They were married June 22, 1946, in Springdale. From this union came one daughter, Connie Lawson, and son-in-law, Jerry; two grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Lawson. He is also survived by one son, Jerry Powell of Tontitown and two grandchildren, Bobby and Carter. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from noon till 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel with the family present. Private burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
