Lorraine C. Hill

Lorraine C. Hill, 93, of Bella Vista passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Bradford House, Bentonville, Ark. Lorraine was born on Sept. 24, 1918, in Missouri to George Vest Cearnal and Lucille Cearnal. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1936 and attended Joplin Business College. She married Richard G. Hill in 1951 and moved to Macomb, Ill., where they lived for over 30 years and Lorraine worked as a legal secretary. In 1983, Lorraine and Richard moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where they were semi-retired. In 1993 they moved to Bella Vista where they enjoyed golf, bridge and travel. For 30 years, Lorraine was a hospital volunteer serving in Illinois, Hawaii and Arkansas. In Bella Vista, Lorraine was a member of several bridge clubs, and Illinois Club. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters. Lorraine is survived by her son, Stephen Hill (Lynn) of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and her daughter, Vicki Sholl (Robert) of Kansas City, Mo.; her granddaughter Cari Pond (Marty) of Lees Summit, Mo.; her granddaughter Jessica Bledsoe (Noah) of Kansas City, Mo.; her grandson, Christopher Sholl (Lauren) of Evanston, Ill.; and her granddaughter, Amy Young (Trevor) of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; great-granddaughter Taylor Young; great-granddaughter, Olivia Bledsoe; and great-grandson, Grant Bledsoe as well as many nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by family, extended family and many friends. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Bella Vista Community Church with Reverend Dr. Anna Teel officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery, Fayetteville, AR. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
