Christopher Wade Barnes

Christopher Wade Barnes, age 38, of Springdale, Ark., died June 6, 2012, in Springdale. He was born Nov. 7, 1973, in Poteau, Okla., the son of Thomas (Bud) and Donna Moore Barnes. He attended Brush Creek Baptist Church and was a probation and parole office for the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections. He attended Carl Albert Junior College and was a graduate of OSU in Stillwater, Okla. Chris liked to read, fish and was a history buff, especially about the Civil War era. He is survived by his wife, Tracey Bennett Barnes of the home; his parents, Thomas "Bud" and Donna Barnes of Poteau, Okla.; one daughter, Madison Barnes of McAlester, Okla.; one brother, Brian Barnes and his wife, Rennie, of Poteau, Okla.; two nephews; and was expecting a baby in October. Funeral service will be Monday, June 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Brush Creek Baptist Church in Springdale, with the Rev. Terry Eaton officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Cemetery in Poteau, Okla., with the Rev. Phil McGhee officiating.
