Steven John Schenkel

Steven John Schenkel, 60, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice House. He was born Sept. 11, 1951, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Jacqueline Kincaid and Casper John Schenkel. He enjoyed computers, both building and troubleshooting. He was an avid Razorback football fan with his sons. He enjoyed watching science fiction films. He loved new technology and enjoyed going to Colorado and spending time in the Rocky Mountains. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1988 after moving from Iowa. Preceded in death by his father. Steven is survived by his wife, Valaine Schenkel of the home, whom he married Sept. 30, 1972; his mother, Jackie Schenkel; two sons, Ryan Schenkel and his wife, Audrey, of Bella Vista, Regan Schenkel and his wife, Amanda, of Bella Vista; one brother, Nathan T. Schenkel and his wife, Leslie, of Peoria, Ill.; one sister, Jill Harder and her husband, Wayne, of Muscatine, Iowa; and five grandchildren. No services are planned.
