Shirley Jean Davis Smith

Shirley Jean Davis Smith, 74, of Tulsa, Okla., passed away Jan. 24, 2012, after a long illness of Parkinson’s disease in Tulsa. Shirley was born in Okemah, Okla., Oct. 11, 1937, to Bill and Florine Davis. She lived most of her early years in Springdale, Ark., and graduated from Springdale High School in 1956. She married E.C. Smith in 1959 and moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she lived until her death. She was employed by, and retired from, Sun Oil Company in Tulsa. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, E.C. Smith of Tulsa; two brothers, John Davis and wife, Jane, of Prague, Okla., and George Davis and wife, Rosa Lea, of Springdale; two nieces, Brenda Hopkins of Springdale and Karen Cherry of Bentonville. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Bill Davis; and her mother, Florine Davis Horton. A private memorial service will be held in Tulsa, Okla.
