Kaye Lynn Ecker

Kaye Lynn Ecker, 40, of Bentonville, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born in Oklahoma City on July 25, 1971. Since moving to Arkansas in 1994, she has been an active member of Bentonville Church of Christ. Kaye graduated high school from Life Christian Academy in OKC in 1990. She has worked for the Bentonville Public Schools for Adventure Club and Building Bridges since 2003. She was a dedicated member of Arkansas HOBY for several years. Kaye was devoted to kids, both at work and at church. She loved attending local baseball and softball games and rarely missed one, even when feeling ill from chemo treatments. Kaye whole-heartedly supported the OU Sooners and the Bentonville Tigers. Survivors include her parents, Jim and Linda (Clinard) Ecker of Bentonville; brother, James Jeffrey Ecker of Bentonville; one aunt and five uncles, Mary Ecker Wright, Jake, John and Joe Ecker, Bob and Mark Clinard and spouses; and 14 cousins. Kaye also had literally hundreds of friends she considered family. Kaye was preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Bess Ecker and Charles and Juanita Clinard. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Bentonville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bentonville Church of Christ. (Family requests attendees wear OU red and white.) Cremation and interment will be private. Since Kaye looked forward to annual trips to Baja City of Children, memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to Bentonville Church of Christ. Attn: Kaye Ecker Memorial Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville. Online condolences may be made at www.callisonlough.com.
