Jimmy G Griffith

Jimmy G. Griffith, 68, of Centerton, died Jan. 15, 2012, at his home. He was born in Harrisburg, Ark., the son of Patty Appling and Walter E. Griffith. He was an avid Razorback fan. Jimmy loved to sing Pickin-Grinning. He sang for residents at the Bentonville Manor for many years. Jimmy worked with the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church of Centerton from 1995 until 2006. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 1992, after moving from West Memphis, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde Griffith, Malcolm Griffith; and two sisters, Thelma James and Micki Marshall. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Bobbie Griffith of the home, whom he married Feb. 18, 1983; two daughters, Mona McCool and Kimberly Briner, both of West Memphis, Ark.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond E. Griffith and his wife, Glenda, of Harrisburg, Ark., Aubrey A. Griffith and his wife, Betty, of Harrisburg, Ark., Donald Griffith and his wife, Kathy, of West Memphis, Ark.; two sisters, Jean Burns of West Memphis, Ark., and Geneva Hopkins and her husband, Bud, of Mesa, Ariz. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Centerton. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Centerton, with Pastor Stuart Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Coffelt Cemetery near Vaughn.
