Harold Issac Haughn, 81, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Elizabeth, Ark., to Roy Otto Haughn and Reable Marchant Haughn. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, reading westerns and was a master story teller. He was a "Jack of all trades" and was called "Grandpa Hero" because he could fix anything. He enjoyed his many friends, especially his "Mayflower friends," but loved his family above all. He was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Simpson Haughn; his parents; one daughter, Anita Mahurin; and his brother, Hayden Haughn. Harold is survived by two sons, Michael Haughn and wife, Deanna, of Gravette, Joe Haughn and wife, Kim, of Bella Vista; son in-law, Leslie Mahurin and wife, Peggy; three daughters, Cheryl Amos and husband, Lester, of Decatur, Melissa Reckenbecker and husband, Tom, of Bella Vista, Amy Markum and husband, Doug, of Rogers; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Falling Springs Church in Decatur with Pastor Will Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Falling Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Harold Haughn to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
