Clarence E. McMillan

Clarence E. McMillan, 89, of Fayetteville died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born July 13, 1923, the son of Clarence E. and Lela Falheree McMillan of Covington, La. He graduated Columbia, Miss., high school in 1941 and married Jane H. Heagler of Springdale, Ark., in 1948. He was a Methodist. He graduated from Louisiana State University as a chemical engineer and did his graduate study in industrial engineering at the University of Toledo. He was a member of Pikappa Alpha and Phieta Sigma fraternity's, and was elected to several class and university offices. His work career with Pure Oil and Amoco included management of refinery maintenance, raw material, and petroleum products distribution, terminals, warehouses, marine transportation in the United States, and fertilizer marketing and distribution in India. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and during the Korean conflict, rising to the rank of captain from private. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Heagler-Mcmillan; and his parents. Survivors include his daughters, Darrel McMillan of Oskaloosa, Kan., and Kathie Gordon of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Michael Milburn and his wife, Ashlea, Christy Milburn and Kelly Milburn, all of Fayetteville, and Jacob Jaap and Issac Jaap, both of Oskaloosa, Kan.; and three great-grandchildren.
