Irene Tuck, 84, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012. She was born July 27, 1927, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Joseph Oscar and Dora Florence Owens Mayes. Irene was affiliated with First Christian Church of Fayetteville and was co-owner and was very instrumental in the success of Herman's Ribhouse in Fayetteville and had also worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Hubert Mayes; and two sisters, Eunice Timbrook and Frances Lewallen. She is survived by her husband, Herman Tuck, to whom she would have been married for 62 years the 9th of February; her children, Cyndy Ash and husband Bill of Fayetteville and Herman Tuck III and wife Kim of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren; and four great-granchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. Gary Lunsford officiating. Burial will be in Son's Chapel Cemetery.
