Bobby Gene Watson

Bobby Gene Watson of Winslow, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at the Fayetteville Veteran's Hospital. Bob was born June 11, 1937, in Boomer, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lillie Watson; his son, Raymond Keith Watson; and two brothers, Elmer Raymond Watson and Danny Joe Watson. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katie Ann Watson; one son, Bobby Joe Watson of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three daughters, Vicky Lynn Daylie of Hot Springs, Ark., Mary Katherine Young of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Susan Ann Watson of Winslow, Ark.; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one brother; and four sisters. Bob retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975 after 20 years of honorable service to his country then began a second career as carpenter and handyman. His spare time was filled with outdoor activities including gardening and hunting. He was proud to be a charter member and officer of the VFW post 10843. The family would like to thank the staff of the Fayetteville Veteran's Home for the excellent care and compassion they provided during Bob's final days. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember Bob on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the West Fork Community Center in West Fork, Ark.
