Betty Watson

Betty Watson, 86, of Bella Vista, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at a local nursing home. She was born March 23, 1925, in San Francisco, Calif., the daughter of Gladys Anderson and William Slaten. Earlier in life she enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid skier. She was a member of the Bella Vista Presbyterian Church for many years. She was the office manager for Watson's Studios and worked previously with Technicolor. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for 11 years after moving from Southern California. Preceded in death by parents. Betty is survived by her husband, Bob Watson of the home, whom she married Sept. 1, 1944; one son, Robert J. Watson and his wife, Stacey, of Southern Calif.; one daughter, Gloria Cunningham and her husband, Tim, of Bella Vista; one sister-in-law, Mary Helen Marlin of Southern California; two grandchildren, April Lauro and Brent Watson; three great-grandchildren, Gary Gwinn, Cole Watson and Jett Watson. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Inurnment was at National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Memorials to Bella Vista Presbyterian Church to the "Building Fund."
