Roena Jo Wells

Roena Jo Wells, 93, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Lowell, Ark., to William Lephly Beard and Martha Jane Jones Beard. The Beard families moved to the Lowell area in 1866 and were some of the first settlers. Roena Jo attended Center Corner School in Lowell. She was a gracious hostess, wonderful homemaker, a precious loving sister, and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wells; and four sisters. Roena Jo is survived by three brothers, Harold Beard of Pea Ridge, Ark., Clint Beard and wife, Leota, of Lowell, Ark., Layne Beard and wife, Connie, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two sisters, Vida Marler of Rogers, Ark., Ada Davenport of Rogers, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers with Pastor Randy Parks officiating.
