Helen Marie Astroski

Helen Marie Astroski, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. She was born on Aug. 12, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to James D. Cotter and Gladys Nockles Cotter. She was raised and educated in Chicago. Helen married Joseph Astroski in 1955. She was an educator for many years in Illinois. They were residents in Hanover Park, Ill., from 1965 until moving to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1990. She was a member of the Dogwood Lace Guild and a choir member at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They traveled extensively in the West. She was preceded in death by parents; and granddaughter, Stephanie. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Astroski of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sons, Joseph Daniel Astroski (Cheryl Lynne) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Albert Charles Astroski (Katherine) of Bellbrook, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Martha Moy (William) of Roselle, Ill., Ann Marie Hlavacek (Allen) of Elmhurst, Ill., Regina Marie Fagan (Raymond) of St. Charles, Ill.; one sister, Patricia Chichester of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren, Joseph Mitchell, Patrick, Rachel, Allison, Emily, Richard, Noreen, David, Colleen, Rebecca, Christine, Steven, Lauren and Jacob. A mass of the resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark.
