Ted S. Grigsby

Ted S. Grigsby, age 87, of Duenweg, Missouri went to be with his good Lord on February 12, 2011. He passed away at St. John's Regional Medical Center after a battle with cancer. Ted was born on March 3, 1923 to Arch and Rena Grigsby in Poteau, Okla. Ted had three brothers and sisters, who all preceded him in death. Ted served in the Army as a Military Police officer from 1942 to 1946. After his tour in the Army he moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where he worked as a police officer for five years. Ted met the love of his life, Pauline H. Drake in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They married June 17, 1948. They had four children. Ted is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and his beloved wife Pauline. Ted is survived by his son, Steve Grigsby Senior and his wife Patti of Joplin, Missouri, son, Jack D. Grigsby and his wife Hattie of Monett, Missouri; daughter, Debi L. Taylor and husband Don of Erie, Kansas and daughter, Gail M. Grigsby and husband Corey Baldwin of Monett, Missouri, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ted was a wonderful husband, father and Grandfather. He was loved and will be missed by all his family. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Graveside services will be held at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, Arkansas, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1 p.m. with military rites. Arrangements are under the care of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary of Joplin, Missouri. Services officiated by Chaplain Phil Misenheimer.
