Joyce Hale (Special to the Democrat-Gazette)Joyce Hale, 80, learned to decorate cakes using tips her father made from tin cans based on photos her mother found in a brochure from an Ann Landers story. She taught cake decorating classes to help put herself through college, won a Pillsbury Bake-Off contest in New York, and baked a cake to feed the whole town of Pea Ridge for a bicentennial celebration.
