Live music generally slows down in the winter time, but we still have some great shows coming up this weekend.
Local punk bands TV Preacher and Bellwether Sirens (who just dropped a new single) will perform with The Idioms for their debut show starting at 8 p.m. Saturday at Nomad's Trailside. Boston Mountain Playboys perform for happy hour at George's Majestic Lounge today. Cover is $8 and doors open at 5 p.m. Then a free show with Mildenhall, Resting, Midnight Wagon and Alkyvad starts at 8 p.m.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, Ozark Blues Society hosts their annual Bound for Beale concert with music from Divas on Fire and NWA's own blues band, Oreo Blue. Also performing are the Chad Marshall Band from Hot Springs and local teenage guitarist Chyrell Stanley, who will travel to Memphis this month for the International Blues Challenge.
