Rogers closes section of 13th Street through May for bicycle network improvements

ROGERS -- The city has closed a portion of 13th Street to through traffic with plans to keep it closed through May.

A full closure with detours began Wednesday on the section of 13th Street between Oak Street and Walnut Street, according to a press release from the city. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access.

The closing is related to the city's downtown revitalization plan. Safe bicycle network improvements are being made to the closed portion of the street, the release says. The improvements will add a paved trail, trees and other landscaping. The road will also be resurfaced.

The work requires the relocation of utilities, according to the release.
