FAYETTEVILLE -- In conjunction with an expansion to the Yvonne Richardson Community Center, the city aims to make improvements to Ralph "Buddy" Hayes Park and is seeking public input on what those changes should look like.

Hayes Park is a half-acre undeveloped neighborhood park located at 235 E. Rock St., just south of the community center.

Staff and planners from the Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Department will host a drop-in, open-house meeting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the park to answer questions and gather feedback from the community about what improvements are desired and how the park could be used.

Those unable to attend the meeting can provide feedback through a questionnaire, which will be posted soon to Speak Up Fayetteville, the city's online engagement portal. Starting Thursday, the questionnaire and other project information will be available at https://speakup.fayetteville-ar.gov.

The community center expansion is being funded by the Parks Improvement Bond approved by Fayetteville residents in 2019, as well as a matching grant from the Walton Family Foundation. Visit https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4061/YRCC-Expansion to learn more about the expansion.
