NATURALS 12, WIND SURGE 3

SPRINGDALE -- Northwest Arkansas banged out 19 hits, including a three-run homer by first baseman Dillan Shrum in the bottom of the fifth, to help the Naturals break open a tight game early and cruise to a 12-3 win over Wichita on Sunday afternoon at Arvest Ballpark.

The Naturals (15-12) won their fourth straight and sent the Wind Surge to their fourth straight loss. Wichita (10-17) led 3-2 after two innings, but the Naturals took a 4-3 lead on Jimmy Govern's run-scoring single. Shrum's second homer of the season pushed the lead to 7-3 and Northwest Arkansas went on to the win.

John Rave, Morgan McCullough, Jorge Bonifacio and Jeison Guzman had three hits each for the Naturals. McCullough and Rave scored three times each, while Shrum drove in a team-high four runs.

Adrian Alcantara (1-0) picked up the win, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. He allowed one hit, struck out two and walked one.

Wichita jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Northwest Arkansas answered with two in the bottom of the first.

Rave and Guzman both came up with RBI-singles to tie the game. But the Wind Surge came back with a run-scoring triple by Yoyner Fajardo in the top of the second for a 3-2 lead.
