Rotary

The Northside Rotary will meet at noon Dec. 12 at Sterling Bank, 3453 N. Steele Blvd. in Fayetteville.

Angela Houser, Certified Senior Care Adviser for CarePatrol of Northwest Arkansas, will present a program.

MOAA

The Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold its annual Christmas Dinner Meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at Mermaids Seafood Restaurant, 2217 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and recommended attire is formal, coat and tie, ladies after-five attire, military uniforms are encouraged but optional.

Chapter members, spouses and guests, as well as anyone eligible for membership, are invited. Membership is open to those who hold or have ever held a warrant or commission in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses.

The program will feature a Christmas theme with entertainment provided by the singing group, Soldier Songs and Voices. The group is a nonprofit organization that performs throughout Northwest Arkansas.

Attendees will also hear updates about the chapter's many programs, such as the veterans' scholarship program, expansion of the Fayetteville National Cemetery, teaching U.S. flag history and etiquette to about 4,000 fifth graders in Northwest Arkansas, and our groundbreaking Mentorship Program with Army and Air Force ROTC programs at the University of Arkansas.

Computer Club

The Bella Vista Computer Club will hold its general meeting "Making Custom Greeting Cards" at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in room 1001, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd.

There will be a help clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 20 in the computer lab.

MUFON

The Northwest Section of Arkansas Mutual UFO Network will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec.16 at the Fayetteville Municipal Airport, 4500 S. School St. in Fayetteville. The agenda will include UFO/UAP cases of interest for 2023, a review of Pathways to Disclosure Highlights for 2023, UFO/UAP book reports and reviews of new books for 2023. This meeting will include holiday refreshments by the section members during the Looking Ahead to 2024 presentation. The meeting room will be open at 9:30 a.m. for early arrivals. Section meetings are open to members, guests and anyone with a genuine interest in UFOs/UAPs. Holiday door prizes will be available.

Legion Post 27

The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 27 is offering hand-thrown pottery by a local artist for sale at special prices as a special fundraiser. The public is invited to come see and purchase the items which are on display at the American Legion Post 27, 1195 S. Curtis Avenue in Fayetteville.

The Shelton Tucker Craft American Legion Post 27 holds a Legion Luncheon that is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday. The all-you-can-eat meal includes beans, corn bread, dessert and coffee or tea for $5.

Post 27 2024 wall calendars are available for purchase for $10. You can pick up at the legion or send a check for $12.50 to American Legion, 1195 S. Curtis Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72701 and one will be mailed to you.
