Arkansas 6, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — Bottom 9th Inning

ULL has the tying run at the plate with no outs. Nick Griffin hit a batter, walked a batter and fell behind 2-0 against Mason Zambo, a pinch hitter. The second pitch to Zambo went to the backstop and allowed the base runners to advance to second and third base.

Kole Ramage is in trying to put out the fire.

Arkansas 6, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — Middle 9th Inning

The Razorbacks stranded two base runners, including Robert Moore at third base in the ninth.

Nick Griffin is back to pitch the bottom of the ninth.

It feels like the Arkansas bats are starting to wake up.

Arkansas 5, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — End 8th Inning

Nick Griffin worked around a leadoff walk and retired three straight in the middle of the ULL order to send the Razorbacks to the ninth with the lead.

He struck out three- and four-hole hitters Carson Roccaforte and Conn Kimple before Jon Brandon flied out to left field.

Arkansas 5, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — Bottom 8th Inning

Nick Griffin walked Kyle DeBarge to lead off the eighth.

Kole Ramage, who threw three innings Friday, is warming up in the bullpen.

Arkansas 5, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — Middle 8th Inning

The Razorbacks have their first lead of the day, 17 innings into the doubleheader.

Nick Griffin, a left hander, is making his collegiate debut in the bottom of the eighth. Griffin had Tommy John surgery in the fall of 2020. He was a highly rated prospect out of high school in Monticello.

Arkansas 5, Louisiana-Lafayette 3 — Top 8th Inning

Jalen Battles' three-run home run to left was a no-doubter. The Hogs have taken the lead.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — Top 8th Inning

ULL has gone to the bullpen twice after walks in the eighth inning.

Chris Lanzilli and Jace Bohrofen drew one-out walks against different pitchers. Jalen Battles is now up with Braydon Webb in scoring position. Webb is pinch running for Lanzilli.

On the mound for ULL now is right hander Drew Shifflet.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — End 7th Inning

Zebulon Vermillion worked around a leadoff walk and struck out two in his first inning of relief.

The Razorbacks must score a run within their next six outs at the plate. The middle of the order is due up in the eighth.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — Middle 7th Inning

Cayden Wallace singled with one out, but Robert Moore grounded into a 6-3 double play to end the inning.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — End 6th Inning

ULL stranded a runner at third base in the sixth. Carson Roccaforte, who had the game's biggest hit earlier, walked to lead off, stole second base and moved to third on a fielder's choice.

He was stranded when Julia Brock flied out to right field. Chris Lanzilli, who is playing right field in place of Brady Slavens, looked a little wobbly tracking the ball and had to catch the ball falling down.

Jaxon Wiggins has thrown six innings for the Razorbacks, but has to be getting close to his pitch count. Zebulon Vermillion was warming up in the bullpen during the sixth.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — Middle 6th Inning

Jacob Schultz struck out Jalen Battles and Dylan Leach around a two-out single by Kendall Diggs in the sixth inning.

Schultz has struck out three in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Arkansas' hitters continue to struggle with high fastballs and buried off-speed pitches today. It has been a really bad day at the plate.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — End 5th Inning

Jaxon Wiggins retired all three Ragin' Cajuns in the fifth. He has rebounded from a rough start and pitched well the past couple of innings.

He has allowed 3 runs, 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3 through 5 innings. He has thrown 73 pitches, including 50 for strikes.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — Middle 5th Inning

Chris Lanzilli took a 3-2 fastball away but in the zone and Arkansas stranded the bases loaded in the fifth inning.

Lanzilli struck out against right hander Jacob Schultz after lefty Chipper Menard threw him a ball outside the zone in the first pitch of the at-bat.

That is the first time in this game, but the third time today the Razorbacks have stranded the bases loaded. And it is Arkansas' seventh strikeout against ULL and 22nd of the day.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 2 — Top 5th Inning

Chipper Menard walked Robert Moore and Michael Turner in consecutive at-bats, including Turner with the bases loaded to force home Zack Gregory.

He fell behind Moore 3-0, but battled back to run the count full before throwing the 3-2 pitch inside. He walked Turner in four pitches.

Chris Lanzilli is at the plate.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 1 — Top 5th Inning

Kyle DeBarge might have robbed Arkansas of a run in the fifth inning. The shortstop was playing between first and second with the shift called against Dylan Leach.

Leach hit a grounder to second base, but DeBarge fielded it and made a great throw against his momentum to get Leach by a step at first base.

Zack Gregory followed with a two-out double to right field, which might have scored Leach had he made it on base. Cayden Wallace also walked in five pitches with two outs.

Robert Moore is due up and will face new ULL pitcher Chipper Menard, a sophomore left hander.

Jeff Wilson's partial line: 4 2/3 innings, 0 earned runs, 2 hits, 2 walks and a career-high 6 strikeouts.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 1 — End 4th Inning

Bobby Lada reached on a two-out throwing error by Jalen Battles (it was originally ruled a single, so a tough play to score), but he was picked off moments later by Jaxon Wiggins. The pick off was reviewed and upheld.

On the error, Battles fielded a ball deep in the hole and had to hurry his throw as Lada sped down the line. His throw brought first baseman Michael Turner off the bag and Turner just missed the runner's back with a swipe.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 1 — Middle 4th Inning

Arkansas went down quickly in the fourth. Chris Lanzilli grounded out to the pitcher, Jace Bohrofen flied out to near the warning track in right field and Jalen Battles flied out to right-center.

The Razorbacks have just one hit in this game after recording three hits in the first game of the day.

Louisiana-Lafayette 3, Arkansas 1 — End 3rd Inning

Jaxon Wiggins has not looked sharp tonight. He allowed three one-out runners in the third, including a two-run double to Carson Roccaforte.

That scored Will Veillon, who was hit by a pitch, and Kyle DeBarge, who singled. DeBarge scored from first on the double and slid into home plate just before the tag from catcher Dylan Leach.

Arkansas 1, Louisiana-Lafayette 1 — Middle 3rd Inning

The Razorbacks stranded two runners in scoring position when Michael Turner struck out swinging at a high fastball to end the inning.

Zack Gregory and Cayden Wallace, who reached on an error and fielder's choice, stole second and third when Robert Moore struck out for the second out of the inning.

Arkansas has struck out five times through three innings tonight against Jeff Wilson and 20 times today.

Arkansas 1, Louisiana-Lafayette 1 — Top 3rd Inning

That is Arkansas' first run of the day is in its 12th inning at the plate.

Louisiana-Lafayette 1, Arkansas 0 — End 2nd Inning

Jaxon Wiggins retired ULL in order in the second inning, including Bobby Lada with a strikeout looking to end the inning.

Louisiana-Lafayette 1, Arkansas 0 — Middle 2nd Inning

Michael Turner singled to lead off the second inning, but he was stranded there. Chris Lanzilli and Jace Bohrofen struck out before Jalen Battles grounded out to end the half inning.

The Razorbacks have already struck out three times in this game after striking out 15 earlier today against Stanford.

Louisiana-Lafayette 1, Arkansas 0 — End 1st Inning

The Razorbacks are off to a rough start in the nightcap. Kyl DeBarge, who reached on a fielder's choice after a leadoff walk, scored on Conn Kimple's RBI groundout.

Jaxon Wiggins struck out CJ Willis to end the inning. ULL stranded one. Wiggins allowed a hit and walk, and threw a wild pitch in the inning.

Arkansas nearly turned a double play to erase the leadoff base runner, but Robert Moore's throw took first baseman Michael Turner off the bag, which allowed DeBarge to reach. Turner did a good job not to let the ball get past him.

Arkansas 0, Louisiana-Lafayette 0 — Middle 1st Inning

The Razorbacks went three-up, three-down against Jeff Wilson in the first inning. Zack Gregory (groundout) and Cayden Wallace (pop up) hit it back to Wilson, and Robert Moore struck out.
