Savor the Flavor

Faith in Action

1 -- The annual Savor the Flavor is a walking tasting tour of area restaurants to benefit Faith in Action, an outreach service of Washington Regional Medical Foundation that provides non-medical services to homebound seniors in Benton and Washington counties at no cost to those served.

Passbooks for the restaurant tour will be good at participating restaurants until Sept. 30, 2022. Organizers say passbooks include more than $150 in discounts and offers.

"Faith in Action volunteers serve homebound seniors by providing transportation to appointments and the grocery store, making friendly visits, delivering food pantry items, doing yard work and taking care of other needs. Since 2012, FIA has received 96% of the revenue from Savor the Flavor to support the program's mission."

Walk for Hope

Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter

2 9 a.m. -- Walk for Hope will be held at Village on the Creeks in Rogers. Organizers say the third annual walk is a "fun, family-friendly event [that] supports the youth at the Shelter and the students at Hope Academy of Northwest Arkansas." Golf With the Finest

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation -- Northwest Arkansas Chapter

7 7 a.m and 8 at 9 a.m. -- The "Golf With the Finest" golf tournament and barbecue contest will be at Shadow Valley Country Club in Rogers. Registration is $1,500 for a foursome, and sponsorships are available from $2,000. Information: (501) 371-0233 or [email protected].

Car and Motorcycle Show

ALS

9 9 a.m.-3 p.m. -- The British Iron Touring Club of Northwest Arkansas will host its 19th annual British car and motorcycle show at Agri Park in Fayetteville on Arkansas 112. All proceeds from the show will be donated to the ALS Association – Arkansas Chapter.

Organizers say those attending will have the opportunity to vote for their choices of best car or motorcycle in each of 36 judging classes. Shows generally field 150-175 entries of beautiful vintage and modern British automobiles and motorcycles. Participants can choose to participate in long and short drives on the Thursday and Friday before the Saturday morning show. An awards banquet will feature a guest speaker and trophies for class winners.

Celebration

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance

9 4:30 p.m. -- Sheep Dog Impact Assistance will mark 11 years with a celebration Oct. 9 at Village on the Creeks in Rogers. The fundraiser will feature combat-wounded Army Sgt. Sergio Trejo as guest speaker. The evening's guest of honor will be "Dancing With The Stars" competitor and combat veteran Army Sgt. Noah Galloway. Army veteran Tracy Dufault will serve as honorary chairwoman. "American Idol" top 12 finalist and Northwest Arkansas native Madison Watkins will perform.

Organizers say the outdoor evening will also include a picnic-style dinner, lawn seating, fireworks and live and silent auctions.

Gate opens at 4:30 p.m., with the program from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A reception for VIP ticketholders will begin at 9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket for seating. There will be limited lawn chair and wheelchair seating along the perimeters of the general admission and VIP sections.

General admission tickets for the picnic/golf attire benefit are $30 for children younger than 16 and $50 for adults. VIP tickets are $70 for children younger than 16 and $150 for adults. Information: (417) 812-6035 or [email protected].

An Evening at the Farm

Apple Seeds

9 5:30 p.m. -- Apple Seeds Teaching Farm will host An Evening from the Farm at the farm at Gulley Park in Fayetteville. Organizers say the evening will begin with a cocktail hour featuring a signature cocktail from Maxine's Taproom, appetizers by Noble Graze and live music by Dandelion Heart followed by a multi-course dinner. "This year's culinary dream team, Chef Matt Cooper, Chef Heather Artripe, Chef Corey McCain and Chef Sam Diaz, will craft a one-of-a-kind meal sourced from local ingredients and elements from our garden." Autumn Gala

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

21 7 p.m. -- The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will play host to the inaugural Autumn Gala. Organizers say the outdoor, socially distanced benefit will feature live jazz, a chef-prepared dinner, wine and beer, "gala games of chance," and live and silent auctions.

"This event sustains the Garden for the coming seasons, and your financial support is vital," organizers say. "As Northwest Arkansas grows, it is more important than ever to protect and develop this space into a world-class botanical garden for future generations to learn and to be in nature."

Guests at the rain or shine event must be 21 or older, and tickets at $95 for Four Season level members or $125 are nonrefundable. "Guests will be required to wear masks at the Garden entrance, inside the building or when it is not possible to socially distance from others."

Charity Golf Tournament and Ultimate Tailgate & Auction

Pagnozzi Parker Charities

22 7 a.m. -- The 30th annual Pagnozzi Parker Charity Golf Tournament will take place at 7 a.m. at Paradise Valley Golf Club in Fayetteville.

Registration for teams of four is $900 for the morning or afternoon flight.

The Ultimate Tailgate and Auction will begin at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center.

The Pagnozzi Parker Make a Difference Award will be presented.

Event proceeds will go to benefit the Pagnozzi Parker Charities Youth Sports Scholarship Program. The program grants sports scholarships to underprivileged children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Northwest Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter

23 7 p.m. -- The Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter benefit, "Fresh StART," will be an online event. The art auction will feature works from other area artists, as well as pieces created by women and children residing in the shelter.
