ROGERS — Emergency responders were still searching part of Beaver Lake on Monday afternoon for a possible drowning victim.

Shannon Jenkins, spokeswoman for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, said authorities were notified at 7:20 p.m. Sunday of a woman who went missing near the Prairie Creek recreation area. She did not disclose the person’s name or any details about what happened.

The Sheriff’s Office, Beaver Lake Fire Department and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission were among the agencies responding to the incident. They searched past midnight Sunday, then resumed the search early Monday, Jenkins said.

More than two dozen people are involved in the operation. They were using sonar in an area of the lake called Coose Hollow, about a mile east of the Prairie Creek marina.
