Fayetteville's Centennial Park will host a 2021 Union Cycliste Internationale Cyclocross World Cup, according to a news release.

The organization's management committee announced the third annual FayetteCross will be a UCI World Cup event and will take place Oct. 13, the release states.

FayetteCross will offer a championship course preview and a chance to watch racers from more than 25 countries.

"I can confidently say there is no other cyclocross course like this in the United States, perhaps anywhere," said Brook Watts, FayetteCross race director. "We have been building this course for the past 16 months, with each meter of the course dedicated to bringing the best out of this beautiful Fayetteville mountainside."

The 2022 UCI World Championships is scheduled for Jan. 29-30, 2022, at the same venue, according to the release.

"Fayetteville is ready to show the world its newest world-class course and welcome both racers and spectators to enjoy our bike-friendly community and all the fun experiences to be had during their stay," said Molly Rawn, chief executive officer of Experience Fayetteville.
