Temperatures to drop below freezing in Northwest Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE -- Small plants and tender vegetation could die tonight if left outside or unprotected, weather forecasters say.

Northwest Arkansas will likely see temperatures drop below freezing to 30 degrees between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning Thursday afternoon for the region.

A high temperature of 46 and a low of 31 is predicted for the rest of Thursday, according to the weather service. Temperatures are forecast to climb into the low 60s Friday afternoon.
